In the decades to come, Cumberland Village will become a resilient, complete, and distinctly historic rural Village. Key community destinations and neighbourhoods will be strongly connected by scenic paths and a small but vibrant mixed-use core will be supported by surrounding residents. The unique combination of Cumberland’s historic charm, surrounding agricultural landscape and renowned farmers market will make Cumberland Village a day trip destination for the broader region.
The Gatineau Police Service and Ottawa Police Service’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) will focus on impaired driving and construction zone safety during the month of June.
Between 2007 and 2011, there were 1,818 impaired driving-related collisions in Ottawa with 34 fatalities, 764 injuries with 97 of those being considered serious. Eighty percent of the impaired drivers were male and 30 percent were between the ages of 16 and 24.
Here is a proposal that has been submitted to the City of Ottawa that will affect our community. There will be a public meeting, we will keep you informed. Please take a moment to read through the proposal/implications. Here is an email the Cumberland Community Association sent to the planner at the city.
I'm with the Cumberland Community Association and have just received information on this proposed road change in our village. (Our president, Clive Horne, is out for the country for a couple of weeks so I thought I would pass on some thoughts.)
