Rural Association Partnership Program

  • If you are an Ottawa organization operating a rural fair, a farmers’ market or a rural business organization such as a Chamber of Commerce or Business Improvement Areas, you may be eligible for funding of up to $7,500 through the City of Ottawa’s Rural Association Partnership Program (RAPP).
  • The second-round of RAPP funding is now available with applications being accepted until Friday, August 19 at 4 pm.

Monday, June 13, 2016 - 7:00am to Friday, July 29, 2016 - 4:00pm

ROAD WORK NOTICE: DUNNING ROAD - began this morning, scheduled to continue until July 29 - resurfacing and sidewalk repairs and replacement from Old Montreal to Wilhaven. Road will frequently be reduced to just one lane - you'll have to leave a little earlier if you use Dunning for your morning commute. Please watch for road crews, and remember fines are double for speeding in a construction zone with crews present.

Draft Community Design Principles - Community Planning

Update on community planning

CCA is working on guidelines for long-term development in Cumberland. This project is an extension of the Community Vision exercise (2008-2011) and the Updated Secondary Plan for Cumberland Village (2011).

Through the planning exercises, Cumberland residents told us they are proud of where they live, value nature and the outdoors and the small-town pace of life. At the same time, new commercial and residential growth would help make our village more sustainable.

City-wide open air fire ban in effect

Ottawa – Ottawa Fire Services is placing a city-wide fire ban into effect immediately to prevent the rapid spread of fire due to grass and brush fires. This ban will remain in place until conditions improve and the green grass starts to show through dead tall grass.

Rural Well Water Testing

Rural well water testing drop-off schedule

Ottawa Public Health (OPH) has established permanent sites across Ottawa where well owners can drop off their water samples and pick up new bottles for future testing to make it more convenient for residents living on residential well systems to have their well water tested for free. As part of the improved program, residents can drop off their water samples every Tuesday at one of these locations (see chart below).
