On behalf of all the people who enjoyed bidding on the merchandise, services and unique treasures, at the MARDI GRAS Dinner, Dance and Silent Auction on Saturday night, the Cumberland Community Association would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to all the donors to this event. Please take a moment to read through the list and thank these vendors in person with your business. Until next year...
We are thrilled to have Isabella Nicole sing for us again at our Mardi Gras Dinner, Dance and SIlent Auction on February 20th. Many of you may remember her when she first sang in Cumberland three years ago at the 2013 Winterfest Dinner. Since then she has sung at the Pub Night at the Maple Hall in 2014 and the Heritage Home Tour in St. Andrew's Church in December 2014 and she made a surprise appearance at our Christmas carolling around the village tree in December 2015.
Congratulations and Welcome Home to Anda (co-president of the Cumberland Village Community Association) and her friend Arlene on completing a grueling 3,523.2km hike of the Appalachian Trail up the east coast of the United States to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society of Ottawa Renfrew!
The Cumberland Village Heritage Museum is currently on the lookout for donated perrenials! Two of our community volunteers are going to be helping them to beautify the property gardens and request that if you happen to have any that you may be getting rid of or dividing and would like to donate, please do! The CIty of Ottawa is preparing to replace an existing culvert on Old Montreal Road, located 520 m west of Beckett’s Creek Road. See attachment for exact location. The culvert is in extremely poor condition and needs to be replaced before spring run-off (March 15, 2015) to avoid any potential for failure. It is proposed to replace the existing culvert with one the same size at the same elevation and along the same alignment, with rip rap end treatments. New steel beam guiderail will be installed as well. Acqiring required permits is underway.
