As part of the Stage 2 East Extension Project, Kiewit-Eurovia-Vinci must remove overhead signage on Highway 174 between Champlain Boulevard and Tenth Line. For safety of the public and their crews, a brief, staggered full closure of Highway 174 in both directions is required.
This is still scheduled to proceed late on Saturday March 21, 2020, to the morning of Sunday March 22, 2020. The staggered approach will occur as follows:
Highway 174 Westbound Full Closure 23:00 PM – 06:00 AM between Tenth Line and Champlain Boulevard (Single lane closure begins at 22:30 to enable full shutdown at 23:00)
All WB traffic exits the Highway at Tenth Line off-ramp, following Emergency Detour Routes, to re-enter the Highway at Champlain Boulevard on-ramp
Highway 174 Eastbound Full Closure 02:00 AM – 09:00 AM between Champlain Boulevard and Tenth Line (Single lane closure begins at 01:30 to enable full shutdown at 02:00)
All EB traffic exits at Champlain Boulevard off-ramp, following Emergency Detour Routes, to re-enter the Highway at Tenth Line on-ramp
Minor delays are expected to Transit routes following the detour.
Digital road-side PVMS signage will be erected early this week to provide motorists with advanced notice of the closures. Detours will be well-signed while brief closures are in effect, along with existing Emergency Detour Route signage.
