Invitation to the City’s Water Roundtable: Water Issues that affect us all

Saturday, June 14, 2014 - 9:00am to 1:00pm

PLEASE REGISTER by Friday, May 23, 2014. Send an email to or directly to Joshua Giguère in Councillor Stephen Blais' office.

The City is hosting a Water Roundtable and is inviting residents to increase awareness and shared understanding of the health of Ottawa’s rivers, lakes, and streams; and further conversations with residents about what we as a community can do to ensure these precious resources are protected and preserved. Insights gained from the Water Roundtable will inform the long term goals, objectives and guiding principles for Phase 2 of the Water Environment Strategy, as well as the Eastern Subwatersheds Stormwater Retrofit Study, two key projects in the ongoing implementation of the Ottawa River Action Plan.

We have a unique opportunity to let our voice be heard regarding all aspects of water management, protection, drinking, recreation and more in and affecting our community. As a community down stream of 2 significant cities who still dump sewage treatment 'overflow' directly into the Ottawa River which borders our northern boundary, we have a vested interest. Please come out and ensure that Cumberland is well represented.
